Review: If you like a great fantasy or fiction book then you will love Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. This book is the 1st book in the Harry Potter series. In my opinion this was the best book ever written.

Harry is an 11 year old that doesn’t know the truth about how his parents died. He hasn’t celebrated his birthday since he was born. His only living family is very inconsiderate to Harry. His uncle owns a drill company and his aunt is at home the whole day. But Harry starts receiving letters from Hogwarts (school of magic) and starts seeing owls around his neighborhood. Then as the owls keep coming to the Dursley’s house the Dursleys head to a seaside cottage. There one of the Hogwarts professors Hagrid comes to wish Harry a happy birthday and asks Harry about the letters from Hogwarts. Then they both head off to buy school supplies for Harry. Harry’s life turns around at Hogwarts. People talk about a game called Quidditch but he never heard of it. Though he has no magical knowledge whatsoever Harry learns about magic and his family. But during the first half of the year he learns how his parents had died and more. At Hogwarts he meets Hermione and Ron. When Harry is seen on a broom by one of his professors he is recommended for the Quidditch (a broom sport) team. Being the youngest player he is envied by his friends and peers. Going to Hogwarts makes harry realize that he is more talented than he thought.

This is the best book for fiction lovers. There is a twist in the story. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone is a great book for anybody 10 to 15 years of age. After reading this book I was astounded by the details in the story line and how intricate the plot is. Reading this book opened my eyes to new opportunities in reading. I started choosing better books because I knew what I would like. If you want to read more of the Harry Potter books the 2nd book in the series is called Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. I hope you like this book so much that you want to read the rest of the series.
